    You're right Dan. Although I'm not sure it's a pre-war Indian - I think it's a '46.

    Upon further research, it's a 1940 '440' model, only produced in the configuration shown that year. In 1941 they got 16" balloon tires, and pre-1939 they didn't have those fenders. They stopped making them in 1942.
