ReplyDeleteI was actually friends with her, in her later life (mid to late 1980s) She would send me awesome orig semi-nude/nude pics signed Happy Holidays to me (and my non- existent family!) every year. One day I came home to find she had sent me a box;it contained one of the original beaded G-strings from one of her acts! Later she got really pissed off at me because some beads broke off it when I let me GF of the time try it on. My GF at the time was 26, Lili was in her 70s or 80's. Lili told me many amazing stories about her youth and shows and traveling the world. Guys she fucked, guys who were schmucks (that horrible Mr. Klaw, Jimmy Mann of theater fame, She didn't like Tempest Storm either). Bernard of Hollywood was her favorite photographer(and she was super critical of all pics of herself). The El Rancho Vegas being mysteriously burned down. Her obscenity trial. Stripping for a pre-presidential R. Reagan. She had gained and lost several fortunes; been married and divorced many times and had a million fascinating anecdotes. She had nothing to lose and spoke her mind all the time (she had a very sultry voice even in her old age). In her youth she had a timeless beauty.Her body was insane.
Like I said I miss her...

ReplyDeleteI love to hear personal tales, anecdotes and stories. I'm surprised no one has yet turned her life story into a film...
Purely for the comic nature of this blog, I removed a few zeros from the actually article which originally stated 'The Gal With The $50,000 Body" - a hell of a lot of money back then, and as you can attest, she sure did have a wonderful frame.
I'd love to hear more stories if you have the time and any more photos I have or come across I shall surely post for you.
