    I once saw an awesome demo by Mr. Edgerton where he took a rolled up newspaper attached to the end of a 2 X 4 and stuck it in front of one of the large flash units he designed for underneath aircraft to take surveillance photos with. When he set it of the newspaper was gone, vaporized and the end of the wood was on fire.

    Amazing - I wonder if these flash units were ever used? I can't imagine them popping that bright in the middle of the night.
