A young Connie Stevens in Hawaiian eye? I barely remember this show; and by barely, I mean not at all. I know this sounds ignrnt, but did they have East Coast Tiki Bars or was it just a Trader Vics, West Coast thing? There are still a bunch here. Some real, some hipster flavor of the month.
Dude The Tonga Room at the Fairmont hotel in S.F. It is a total classic, has been there forever it probably still costs a fortune it did in the 80's. It has a rain storm!

ReplyDeleteTrader Vic's was a classic. And yes, there were/ are still Tiki bars. I do love them. They're mainly 'down the shore' as we say.
ReplyDeleteThe best ones are definitely in Cali. I'll be stopping at one or two (I'm sure) when I head West this summer.

ReplyDeleteHer expression suggests she has company under the table...or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh the Tonga Room - I'll send a pic over later on today.
ReplyDeleteFunny KK - someone is serving up raw clams as a side dish.
