Reminds me of reading a book that detailed the real life of the real "Born Free" couple and their Lion Elsa. Worth a read if you can find it.
ReplyDeleteThe both of them met grizzly fates and I think their lion died in the same manner. One of many strange stories of Lions and people.
Sounds very interesting.I had no idea (based on the movie version) that the couple's demise was in such a manner. I will surely check it out, and thanks for the recommendation.

the movie and real life were about as far apart as you can get...there were some interesting anecdotes in the book regarding the movie , the actors almost died on several occasions since they had to use a bunch of "Lion Actors" that were not all tame..LOL. one jumped up on the side of the female lead and broke her leg like a toothpick for example, she did half the movie in a cast that was hidden by her khaki jungle pants
