An inedible stew of visual lunacy much of which I concocted with my own three hands.
Wally Wood art from the 50's.....yeah
Yup !Cover of Weird Science Fiction - March '54.
How the hell do you guys know all of this shit!?!
Instead of doing homework in college, I read comic books. Then again, I studied film - so it wasn't a big deal.
I've read and watched for the last 20 years... You're just a sponge, I tell you.
Shock SuspenseStories 6 (my fave)and his Weird Science /Science Fantasy Covers are all awesome. The space monsters look like proto-Ugly Stickers; and the spaceship interior style is copied by artists to this day. IMO this Wood EC work was superior to the limited Frazetta comic work at the time. (With the possible exception of the Buck Rogers Famous Funnies covers which I believe are earlier.)Spa Fon!
I may be Drewsus, but as far as comic book illustrators, and all those details in Sci-Fi and monster movies, I can't hold a candle to Mr. X.Oh, and cars.
and Drewsus, 20years is not nearly long enough.
I forgot pin-up's and burlesque models... um, etc. etc.
Revenge of The Incredible Mr. Limpet
HA. I love that movie. Don Knotts defines 'cool.' No, but really... I do like that film.
